A special food distribution program has been completed targeting the students studying at Shri Brahmeshwor Ved Vidyashram, Gurukul located in Kabilas, Panchakanya Rural Municipality-2, Nuwakot, jointly organized by Lions Club of Kathmandu Shri Machhapokhari 325 K and Leo Club of Kathmandu Shri Machhapokhari.
According to the club's president Shri Sanat Kumar Basnet, "This program has been organized on the occasion of the birthday of my wife Chandika Basnet. It is a matter of pride for me to be able to support the students of Gurukul and do social work in the name of my wife." "The greatest religion is service," he added. Under the program, food items as per daily needs were distributed to the students studying at Gurukul and residing in the hostel.
The organizers believe that this will make the students' daily lives easier and give them more motivation towards their studies. The program saw significant participation from Lions leaders, social activists, local parents and community members. The participants expressed the view that such social service would further strengthen the relationship between education, culture and service spirit.
